Welcome to CulturaFest 2026!
Last year, our cultural festival was such a success that we had to do it again! CulturaFest is a grand celebration of the wonderful diversity of cultures we have here in the Matamata-Piako District, and this will be the second year we're running it. This year, CulturaFest will be on Saturday 26 September from 11am at the Matamata Primary School grounds. There will be a roster of cultural performances, a range of different food stalls, and the opportunity for spot prizes. We encourage you to get involved and celebrate with us!
Like last year, the Matamata-Piako District Libraries are once again partnering with the Matamata-Piako Multicultural Society to bring you a week of exciting cultural workshops where our amazing volunteers will teach you all about their food, dance, language, music, and more. There is no cost to attend any of the workshops so make sure to sign up while there are still spaces left!
CulturaFest Library Workshops
Our week of cultural workshops will be hosted by Matamata Library from Monday 21 September to Friday 25 September. These workshops will run in the evenings from 6pm onward and include introductions to foreign languages, cooking classes, dance classes, and much more!
